History

First in directory in 1888 as The Royal Tar. Also referred to as The Jolly Tar. At other times known as The Yacht, and Captain Morgans.
Interesting cast iron pillars at corners of the windows. These can be seen on houses in Hamilton and Whitestile Roads.

  1. My grandparents moved from Millstreet Cork in 1865 and eventually settled in
    Royal Tar Alley, Brentford as seen in the 1871 census so the Royal Tar Pub was built before 1888 as stated in the text you have put on this website.
