Charles Woodcock (ca. 1730 – 1792) purchased the Brentford Market with partners in 1768 and he is reported to have lived in a “commodious brick house” in the Butts of Brentford, near where the Market House once stood. There are several such houses that still exist in that area of the Butts (including some shown on this website). Does anyone know which particular large brick house belonged to Woodcock? I plan to visit the Butts in two weeks and would like to photograph that house for a history essay that I’m working on.
