Peter Rutt’s A Town To Remember

 A Town to Remember

Peter Rutt created and maintained the website “Brentford: A Town to Remember” which stopped being updated in 2007. We have, with his permission, uploaded all the content onto this website although we have lost the Comic Sans and other design features. Words and pictures are as he presented. This is not yet finished.

Many of the old photos shown here, and used in books on Brentford’s history, are reproduced from copies in the Local Studies Collection held at Chiswick Library.

The Web-site “BRENTFORD” A town to remember has been operative since 2000 and we have had some wonderful emails from near and far. I hope you have had some good memories of the old days and the times we were together with our old school chums.

(I’m lucky in having “Peter Butler” (affectionately known as “The old B*D of Brentford) and “Jimmy Hunt”. We lost contact in 1943 and met again sixty years later in 2003. I hope some of you have had similar experiences. I don’t want to sound morbid, but I would like to remember all of those who we met and have passed away.

God bless them all, they were lovely people in their own ways, what characters some of them were.
Best wishes to all,
Peter
