Beaufort House was the home of my great grandmother’s family the Browne’s. Her father Tobias Augustus May Browne, born 23.06.1821 in London was an accountant.
Her Mother was Anna Pierce Browne (neeTurfrey) born26.10. 1823 There were nine siblings of Caroline.
Caroline Bertha Browne married my great grandfather Norman Henry Killick in New Zealand.
I am hoping that someone will have early photographs of members of the Browne family, (my great grandmother’s) who once lived and owned Beaufort house, or information of which I may not have.
Thanks.
My Grandfather, Walter Pearce lived in Beaufort House with his family, during the 1930’s and 1940’s. I know the Stallabrass side of the family had strong links to the Butts.
Peter Pearce, son of Brian Pearce and Grandson of Walter Pearce. The family moved to Lismore, Co. Waterford in 1947.

In answer to your email. My great grandfather, Henry Norman Killick, married Caroline Bertha Browne, known to all as Bertha. In May 2024, I visited the grave of Bertha and her husband Henry, in Mercer New Zealand. I took photos of the site, but I can’t see where to attach these here. So, bertha was my great grandmother. The couple were both previously married. My great, great grandparents were Augustus May Browne, and Anna Pierce Turfrey. Augustus was an accountant. The family of nine children, owned and lived in Beaufort House. Augustus died in the home 16/02/1873, his wife Anna possibly in the last quarter of 1902. I imagine the family home Beaufort House, would have been sold after Anna’s death. Many of the siblings having grown up, and immigrated to the colonies, Australia and New Zealand. I have much information and photos, but alas not one of Henry Norman Killick.
These details were supplied by the late Mr. Jim Stevenson, a previous unknown second cousin of mine, in New Zealand. We visited their home before his passing in August 2018. Jim died in September 2018 aged 70.
